All rooms and suites feature a balcony with a breathtaking view of the landscaped gardens, golf courses and the idyllic mountains of Sintra. The Penha Longa 27 hole golf course, designed by Trent Jones Jr, is ranked in the top 30 Courses in Continental Europe. Players will find three different 18-hole constellations.
A wide range of outdoor activities is available, such as jogging routes, kart cross, hiking, trekking, bird-watching and BTT. All Guests have complimentary access to the Health Club with gym, sauna, Turkish bath, indoor and outdoor pools. At the games room guests may play traditional games like billiard, table tennis, playstation and Wii station games. The Country Club at the Resort offers a wide variety of activities for adults and children, such as horse riding, tennis, paddle and squash.
During holidays the Penha Longa Kids Club offers special attention for the younger ones with stimulating activities.
Food & Drink: Cataplanas to sushi
There are three main restaurants and two bars at the Penha Longa Resort.
The Chef at “Il Mercato” is specialized in using little-known and delicious food and wines from all across Italy’s twenty regions.
The “Arola” offers a creative and contemporary kind of Portuguese cuisine, mixing tradition and heritage with an inimitable modern touch. Advises by the Chef Sergi Arola (2 Michelin stars awarded).
At “Midori” guests will find an amazing selection of sushi and sashimi at Sushi Lovers Buffet or traditional Japanese cuisine buffet or à la carte with option for Teppan Yaki (live show cooking).
In the “B Lounge” light meals were served all day long, also specials like gourmet hamburgers. In the evening it turns in a bar with an extensive selection of Gins.
The poolside restaurant “Aqua” is the best place to enjoy the finest Portuguese cuisine prepared on an open grill. The famous Portuguese Cataplanas have a permanent place on the menu.
